**Below are answers to some common consumer problems.**

(1) What are the things to pay special attention to when buying a precious gem ONLINE?

-->1. The first factor that determines the price of a gemstone is its color and luster.

Ceylon  Gem Europe never edit photos to enhance the beauty and show the gems to mislead the buyer. We do not always edit the true look of the gem or show it to the buyer by taking photos with artificial light that enhances the beauty.(Here may be slight color different depending on the screen you are viewing. It's better to watch photos and videos on a new Apple phone than on the iPhone .)

-->2. The second factor that determines the price of a gemstone is the clarity (Black spots, cracks, fathers, clouds Etc.).

Ceylon Gem Europe show photos and videos of the gemstone at more than ten times magnification because the buyer needs to have a clear understanding of the clarity of the gemstone.

-->3. The other important factor that determines the price of a gemstone is whether it has been subjected to any kind of treatment to improve its color or clarity.

Ceylon Gem Europe only sell natural gemstones that have not been treated in any way(=Unheated) Or only heat treated(=Heated) natural gems to enhance the color(Here, the gemstone is heated in a furness. In this case, nothing enters the gemstone from the outside).

Buying gems without considering or understanding the above three factors will never give you a fair value for the money you spend.

(2) How to get a certificate?

When you are ready to buy a gemstone, you can apply for a certificate for the gemstone by paying a small advance (if the certificate is not as expected, the amount will be refunded). The certificate will be applied by an acclaimed gem laboratory (a GIA-member Gemologist will be inspect the gemstone).It takes between 2 and 5 days to get the certificate. After that you can pay the balance
However, there is no GIA laboratory in Sri Lanka. Therefore, when you need a GIA certificate, the gem can be returned to a GIA laboratory for verification upon receipt. If there is any difference between the two certificates, the full amount will be refunded to you.

(3) Shipping safety and delivery time?

The amount you pay includes fully insured EMS export fee. it may take around 10 days for the parcel to delever. But if you expect the parcel to arrive soon, for an additional 200USD payment, FedEx service can be provided. Here you will receive the parcel within a week.

(4) Under what conditions do you accept a return?

We pay refunds for non-delivery or item not as described. Return shipping is at the purchasers expense.

Refunds do not apply to custom made items which are non returnable as they are made to your specific instructions and requirements.
